Ballet West on Thursday celebrated the opening of a dance training school in Park City, the fourth campus for the Frederick Quinney Lawson Ballet West Academy.

The new campus, located at Kimball Junction, includes four expansive studios and will offer comprehensive dance training, directed by leading Ballet West Academy faculty member, former dancer, professor, and choreographer, Cati Snarr, who was recently promoted to the position after serving as the Children's Ballet Mistress at Ballet West. Snarr has received an Emmy for her choreographic achievements during the 2002 Winter Olympics, and will continue to choreograph and produce the NFL Super Bowl Halftime, among other high-profile sporting events and award shows.

The Park City facility joins academy locations at Thanksgiving Point, Trolley Square, and the main campus in downtown Salt Lake City.

"We are thrilled for this opportunity to serve more of our community with this new location," Ballet West CEO and artistic director Adam Sklute said in a statement. "The Park City location will forever be known as the Ballet West Academy Peggy Bergmann Campus. Peggy lives just minutes away from the location, and she has been a dear friend to Ballet West. This new campus would not have been possible without her support and we are eternally grateful."

The academy attracts more than 550 students every year and an additional 275 attend the Summer Intensive. Last year's students, according to Ballet West, came from nearly every state and five different countries.

"There is a passion for the arts in Summit County, and we're honored to bring our renowned curriculum, instructors, and training to children and adults alike," Ballet West Academy director Peter LeBreton Merz said in a statement.
