One man died Friday night when a FedEx truck coming down Parleys Canyon in the rain crossed the median into eastbound traffic and hit a car head-on.
The driver of the car that was hit died; nobody else was in the car. The driver of the FedEx truck and a passenger suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital by ambulance.
The crash between the truck and the car occurred about 6:20 p.m. near 8630 East on Interstate 80 just east of Lambs Canyon, the Utah Highway Patrol reported. Eastbound traffic was closed for several hours during the investigation.
Two lanes of traffic were open at 10:30 p.m.
