A 28-year-old man died Friday after being found pinned between a truck and a loading dock at a West Jordan business.

West Jordan police spokesman Dan Roberts said the victim, believed to be a dock manager for Capital Trading Co. at 1333 W. 7900 South, was found by employees about 6:30 a.m.

"He was conscious and breathing when transported," Roberts said. "He was taken by helicopter to Intermountain Medical Center with internal injuries to the chest and torso areas."

However, later in the day, he succumbed to his injuries.

The man was believed to have been alone at the time his was pinned, so the events leading up to the accident are unclear.

"We don't know if the truck slipped out of gear, or if he fell off the dock or what right now," Roberts said.

The man's identity has not yet been released. Police are calling the incident an industrial accident, and it still remains under investigation.
