A teenager was expected to survive serious stab wounds he suffered in an altercation early Sunday in Salt Lake County. Witnesses said the victim, 18, said he was stabbed twice at about 3:30 a.m. when a dark-colored SUV stopped near the victim at 5400 South and 5000 West, an occupant got out and "challenged" the victim, said Salt Lake County sheriff's Lt. Don Hutson. A resident nearby saw the fight and directed detectives to a folding knife at the scene, Hutson said. The teen was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
