Sheriff's deputies in Grand County seized four pounds of heroin during what started as a routine traffic stop Thursday.

Two men from Albuquerque, N.M., were stopped for minor traffic offenses on State Road 191 about 1:30 p.m. when deputies noticed the men were behaving suspiciously, according to a news release from the Grand County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies searched the vehicle and discovered high-grade brown crystal heroin with a street value estimated at about $80,000, the release states.

The street value would be increased if the drugs were broken down into grams for street sales, according to the release.

The two men, ages 33 and 69, were charged with second-degree felony drug possession. They were being held in the Grand County jail.
