A man and his pregnant wife were killed Saturday in a crash on State Road 40 in Summit County near Park City.

Roujine R. Ballao, 21, and Yessica Hunda, 18, both of Heber, were killed after their Chevrolet Cavalier veered to the left and Hunda overcorrected, losing control and crashing through the median about 6 a.m., Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Cameron Smith said.

An eastbound Jeep Grand Cherokee slammed into the Cavalier near milepost 2. Ballao and Hunda, who was seven to eight months pregnant, died at the scene. Emergency crews were not able to save the baby.

The occupants of both vehicles were wearing seatbelts, UHP said. The driver and passenger of the Jeep were taken to a hospital. Lanes were closed for about 4½ hours.
