A clerk in Murray was robbed and another in West Valley City was assaulted in separate incidents late Saturday and early Sunday.
A man got away with cash after robbing the Top Stop at 609 W. 5300 South in Murray about 10 p.m., said Officer Steve Sanderson.
He walked into the convenience store, threatened the clerk with a handgun, thought to be a 9mm, and fled in a gray 4-door SUV. He is described as a white or Hispanic man, about 50 years old and approximately 6 feet tall with a mustache, wearing sunglasses and a hat.

On Sunday, two or three youths hit a clerk with a blunt object at the Smith's grocery store located at 4065 S. Redwood Road in West Valley City, said Sgt. Brock Hudson. The clerk had confronted them when they walked down the beer aisle. They hit him about 4:30 a.m., then fled. Officers weren't sure if they stole anything.
