Salt Lake City police arrested three people accused of stabbing and driving into three men during a fight early Saturday, police said.
It started about 1:20 a.m., when a group of several people came to a house on the 900 South block of Gale Street (340 West) looking for a girl they had been with at a party earlier, said police Lt. Cal Kunz. A fight erupted between them and another group already at the house.
An 18-year-old in the first group stabbed another man several times, then got in a car to leave. The driver hit two other men. Police arrived as the car was leaving the scene.
Officers chased it down and arrested three people, two 18-year-old men and a 19-year-old woman, on suspicion of attempted homicide and other charges. The man suspected in the stabbing was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.
The stabbing victim was taken to Intermountain Medical Center in serious condition. One of the men hit by the car was taken to University Hospital in fair condition; the other did not suffer serious injuries. Their ages were not immediately available.
Detectives are investigating whether the fight was gang-related.
