A Midvale teen drove into his mother's leg, then hit a fence and flipped his car on its roof Thursday during what would have been a trip to the store.
The teen was backing a four-door Chevrolet out of his home's driveway near 7800 South and 800 West while his mother stood in the driveway.
"When he went forward somehow his foot slipped," said Midvale police Sgt. Tom Mitchell.
He bumped her right leg with the front of the car, then struck a chain-link fence, which caused the car to flip onto its roof.
The mother was taken to the hospital to get her leg checked out, though Mitchell said the injuries appeared minor. The teen was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
A tow truck turned the car back over.
