West Valley City man charged with stabbing brother

A West Valley City man is charged with third-degree felony assault after he allegedly stabbed his brother three times during an argument earlier this week.

According to charging documents filed Friday in 3rd District Court, a 20-year-old man began arguing with his brother at a home on the 4200 South block of 4800 West on Monday.

The 20-year-old punched his brother before he grabbed a knife and stabbed him three times in the chest, charging documents state.

Police did not say what the two were arguing over.

The 20-year-old is being held in the Salt Lake County jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.

An updated condition report on the man who was stabbed was not available late Friday.
