A robber's gun broke when she hit a restaurant worker with it, according to charges filed Wednesday in 3rd District Court in Salt Lake City.

On June 11, a 41-year-old woman tried to use an air pistol to rob an Arctic Circle at 3990 S. 900 East, court documents say. When an employee said he did not have any money, the bandit hit him in the head with the pistol, which broke, according to the documents.

Police arrived and arrested the woman. She is charged with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony punishable by up to life in prison.
