Salt Lake City police are searching for a woman who robbed three businesses along 900 East.

On May 9, a woman brandished a knife and demanded cash from a clerk at Tesoro, 874 E. 1300 South, police said. She took some cash, cigarettes and groceries.

A woman matching the same description held up a Walgreen's clerk at knife point on June 5 at 909 E. 2100 South. She gave the clerk a note demanding cash.

The woman also is suspected of robbing Smith's Foods, 876 E. 800 South, on June 7. She produced a note that claimed she had a gun. A clerk reported seeing what may have been the barrel of a gun in the woman's sweatshirt pocket. She took some cash and left.

The woman is described as 30 to 40 years old, 5 foot 7 with a thin build. Detectives say she may live on or near 900 East.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 801-799-3000. Callers may remain anonymous.
