Salt Lake City police are looking for a woman who robbed the customer service desk at a grocery store over the weekend.

The woman was at the Smith's near 900 East and 900 South on Sunday around 3:30 p.m. She was waiting in the area of the store that sells videos when a cashier asked if she needed help, according to police.

The woman slid the cashier a note that said she had a gun and wanted money, and she then put her hand in the front pocket of her hoodie, police said.

The cashier told police she could see an object in the woman's pocket and believed the woman had a gun, so she filled a blue bank bag with cash and handed it to the woman. The woman then left the Smith's.

The robber is described as a 35-year-old woman, standing about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing about 115 pounds. Police said she had brown hair in a ponytail and was wearing a black baseball cap, a gray hoodie and black sweat pants, and had a crooked nose and mouth.
