Salt Lake City police are looking for a man who robbed a Maverik convenience store.

The man walked into the Maverik at 1692 W. North Temple at 4:52 a.m. Sunday, picked up a cigar and brought it to the counter. When the clerk rang up his purchase, the man jumped the counter and grabbed a small amount of cash from the till and said he had a weapon in his pocket, according to Salt Lake City police.

He then ran from the store and grabbed a box of cigars on his way out. He was last seen running northwest across the street at 1700 W. North Temple.

The robber is described as a 25- to 30-year-old black man who stands 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. He was wearing a red jacket and blue jeans and had "a few days growth of beard," police said.
