Man charged in stabbing of wife

A Salt Lake City man is accused of stabbing his wife in the abdomen, breaking her ribs and slicing her liver. In charges filed Tuesday, police wrote that the man, 57, stabbed her with a knife at their home near 100 South and 600 East. After he was arrested he said, "I hope she [expletive] dies," police wrote. He is charged with first-degree felony attempted criminal homicide and intoxication, a misdemeanor.
