A handheld torch used to solder pipe started a fire that caused about $25,000 in damage in West Jordan on Sunday, firefighters said. A Saturday evening fire in Salt Lake City started when a gas line came away from a furnace and leaked, said fire spokesman Scott Freitag. A spark from the furnace ignited the gas, causing an explosion at 625 Washington Street (260 West) and 600 South, Freitag said.   Full Story
