Country music, cozy booths, cactus centerpieces and country-singer caricatures give Texas Roadhouse, a nationwide restaurant chain based in Kentucky, its hometown feel.
The restaurant has full-service casual dining and boasts its steaks, "fall-off-the-bone ribs" and made-from scratch rolls, as well as an assortment of ribs, chicken, salads, hamburgers vegetables and all-you-can-eat peanuts.
Texas Roadhouse is also known for its friendly atmosphere.
"A lot of times it's not really work; it's more fun," said Richard Easterly, managing partner of the Taylorsville Texas Roadhouse for 3 1/2 years. "We enjoy taking care of the customer."
The Taylorsville company extends its customer service into the community by giving food and making donations to social and charitable causes.
In the past, such donations have included providing food to help raise money for Canavan Disease research, aiding Miss Utah and helping with student-reading programs. The restaurant recently held an appreciation night for area police officers.
Easterly said the effort is a move to be involved with the community and reach out to help people. He said such philanthropic zeal is encouraged by the company nationwide.
Not only is the company involved in the community, but it also has been recognized for its business strategies and success.
Texas Roadhouse was named 38 in the Forbes magazine's list of 200 Best Small Companies in October 2006 and was the only casual-dining chain listed. The company was one of only three restaurant companies to be ranked.
