Posted: 12:30 PM- Utah Jazz forward Paul Millsap has undergone successful left thumb surgery, vice president of basketball operations Kevin O'Connor announced Friday.

The procedure, which was performed by Dr. Steven Huish, consisted of repairing a torn ligament in Millsap's left thumb. He was injured on May 16 during Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Millsap's thumb will be placed in a cast for two weeks, at which time he will be re-evaluated. Treatment for the following four weeks will be determined. Millsap is expected to be fully healed in six weeks.

Originally selected by the Jazz in the second round of the 2006 draft, Millsap has appeared in all 164 regular season games and all 29 playoff games in his first two seasons. He averaged 8.1 points and 5.6 rebounds in 20.8 minutes per game this season.
