"I'm trying to give it a shot," Brewer said. "I worked out with some of the coaches [Saturday] and it felt pretty good, kind of pain free. It tightened up a little bit but it wasn't too bad. I'm going to try to see how it goes when I do full-contact practice."
Brewer has missed three games with the injury and said having two practice days would help him get up to speed before Tuesday. Ronnie Price has started in Brewer's place and averaged 9.3 points in 28.7 minutes.
Born three
The Jazz have hit 37 three-pointers the last three games, but Kyle Korver revealed last week the team does not have one play designed for a three-pointer. Not even for a three-pointer at the end of a game, as Korver confirmed Sunday.
"We don't run a single play for a three,'' Korver said. "It's just all draw and kicks and that's the way it should be, too. You don't want to predicate your offense around three-point shots. But it's just what happens when they take away drives.
"Obviously, we have a great pick-and-roll game. We have a lot of guys who can get to the basket. If we can surround those people with some shooters, and we get wide-open shots, it's a good shot."
So what would the Jazz do down three points with a second on the clock in Game 7 of the NBA Finals? "We'll probably have a play by that time,'' Korver said.
Head's up
Before the Jazz started practice Sunday, Deron Williams was doubled over in laughter and C.J. Miles was drenched in an energy drink, all courtesy of one of the funniest moments this season that reporters have been around to see.
Williams threw a ball to Miles, who was sitting in the bleachers with the drink in his lap. As he put up his hands at the last second, Miles caught the ball with the can in his hands and had it explode all over him.
"That was my best assist,'' Williams said. "Actually, it was kind of a turnover, though."
"If somebody's not looking, you don't throw throw the ball at them,'' said Miles, whose practice gear was soaked. "Usually, when someone's sitting in the bleachers, that means they don't want the ball."
