Pitcher Dan Denham allowed no runs in 52?3 innings to earn his fourth consecutive win as the Salt Lake Bees defeated the host Portland Beavers 4-2 in a Pacific Coast League game on Sunday.

The Bees scored three runs in the sixth inning to snap a scoreless tie. Brad Coon went 2-for-4 with a run scored, Ben Johnson had a pair of hits and an RBI and Nate Sutton and Sean Rodriguez each added RBI triples. The Bees (50-45) took a 4-0 lead in the ninth.

Danny Putnam belted a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to spoil the shutout bid, but Jeremy Hill retired the next three batters to close out the game.

The win was the Bees' third in a row and it keeps them within 21/2 games of first-place Colorado Springs, as the Sky Sox edged Fresno 4-3.
