Posted: 1:48 PM- SACRAMENTO, Calif.--As expected, the Jazz will have neither Carlos Boozer nor Andrei Kirilenko in the lineup for Tuesday night's game against the Sacramento Kings at Arco Arena.

Boozer will miss his seventh game with the strained left quadriceps tendon he suffered Nov. 19 and sounded unlikely to play the rest of this week. "It's healing," Boozer said, "but it's not healing as fast as I wanted it."

Boozer went through a pool workout Monday in which he was able to do some running for the first time.

"It's getting better, it is getting better, which is a great sign," Boozer said. "It's just not strong enough for me to run full speed and cut and do those type of things. I'm probably maybe a week away."

As much as he has been connected to Miami as a free-agent destination since this summer, Boozer is expected to miss Wednesday's game against the Heat at EnergySolutions Arena.

Asked how he could miss a game against the Heat after so much speculation, Boozer said, laughing: "I've been playing against them in the summertime all summer anyway."

Boozer said the subject of the Heat won't die as long as he lives in Miami during the off-season and is friends with several players on their team. "People want to talk about stuff, they're going to talk about it anyway," Boozer said.

Kirilenko, meanwhile, also has been ruled out of Tuesday's game and limped all the way across court to the huddle at the end of the Jazz's pregame shootaround.

Brevin Knight (sprained left index finger) will play while Ronnie Price did rejoin the team after attending an uncle's funeral in Houston.
