A week ago, Deron Williams had targeted tonight's game against Portland for his possible return from a sprained left ankle.

But Williams won't play tonight and might not return until the Jazz's road trip next week.

"I don't know," Williams said at the pregame shootaround. "I'm just going to keep rehabbing, take it day to day. That's all I can do."

He did acknowledge that the Jazz's success so far has made it easier for him to miss games while the ankle is healing.

"It's easy for me not to rush back when we're 3-0 as opposed to 1-2 or something like that," Williams said. "We've been playing great without me and hopefully we can keep that up."

Williams said he continues to be bothered by some pain and that there's still weakness in the ankle. He added that he could not play right now if he had to.
