Koufos also was ready to move on after a disastrous second quarter in which he missed all five shots he took in Sunday's game against Portland.
Asked what he learned, Koufos answered: "Just be patient and play within myself. It was my first game. I'm young, I'm still learning the game, and I know what I did wrong and I'm going to correct it."
Jazz coach Jerry Sloan scolded the 19-year-old rookie for shooting every time he touched the ball. Koufos acknowledged some of his shots weren't smart and said he would do a better job of running the offense .
LONG ROAD
Starting tonight in Denver, the Jazz will play three games in four days, highlighted by a homecoming trip to the University of Illinois for Deron Williams and Friday's game there against the Chicago Bulls.
Sloan said the Jazz try to build such a stretch into their preseason schedule by design.
"I think that gives guys an opportunity to see what you have to face in the regular season," Sloan said. "It's basketball, so you should love it. You don't have to go to practice three days, just go play."
The Jazz are not expected to make cuts until they return home, though they already have the maximum 15 players under contract. Sloan said he would look to increase minutes for his starters on the trip.
INJURY REPORT
A host of players are nursing minor injuries, starting with Andrei Kirilenko, who did not practice Tuesday due to a sprained right index finger. Brevin Knight has a sprained left thumb and was limited in practice.
Ronnie Price sat out Sunday's game with a bruised lower right leg but did practice, although without contact. Jarron Collins is still bothered by bursitis in his right elbow and didn't practice.
Knight is probable to play tonight, while the other three players will be game-time decisions. So is Gerry McNamara, who missed practice with stomach flu.
