A 47-year-old man is dead after a hit-and-run in West Valley City late Wednesday afternoon.

Police said West Valley City resident Jeremy Hardman and his friend got into an argument with a man driving a black Lexus sedan near 3500 West and 4100 South. As the man in the Lexus left the scene, police said, he made a U-turn and struck Hardman in a crosswalk. Investigators said they believe it was intentional, and they are treating the case as a homicide.

Officers continued to look for the 2001-2005 four-door black Lexus with a male driver on Wednesday night. The car has a loud exhaust, a spoiler and temporary plates, police said. It also has a broken windshield from the collision. The driver is described as being in his 20s to early 30s, with a buzz cut.
