The Salt Lake Bees won their fourth walk-off game of the season thanks to a line-drive RBI double into the left-center field gap by former University of Utah standout C.J. Cron. Cron's rocket led the Bees (28-24) to a 2-1 win over the Tacoma Rainiers (30-20) in the third game of their four-game series at Smith's Ballpark on Monday night.

Bees starting pitcher Alex Klonowski struck out seven and allowed one run on seven hits and two walks in 5 2/3 innings, while relievers Cody Ege and Damien Magnifico combined for 3 1/3 scoreless innings. Bo Way went 2 for 3 with a run scored, and Kaleb Cowart had one hit and one RBI. The Bees are in first place in the Pacific Coast League's Pacific Southern Division, one-half game ahead of the Albuquerque Isotopes.

Turning Point • The Bees offense struggled for the first five innings. They had just two hits and no walks. Then in the sixth, Bo Way reached on a leadoff single, stole second and scored on Cowart's RBI double to tie the game 1-1.

Bees MVP • Cron, who went 1 for 4, is now batting .368 in 10 games with the Bees.

Hidden Hero • Dustin Ackley went 2 for 4. He started the ninth inning with a single and scored on Cron's double.

Flashing Leather • Third baseman Kaleb Cowart charged a slow-rolling ball down the line, scooped it, transferred to his throwing hand and threw across the diamond on the run to get Tacoma's Tuffy Gosewisch for the second out of the seventh inning.

Quoteworthy • Cron on being back in Triple-A, "It's baseball. It's a little bit of business, a little bit of performance. I'm just trying to come down and maybe open some eyes again, and try to get back to where I know I can be and try to make it tough on the people making decisions."

Angel Angle • The Los Angeles Angels announced that two-time American League MVP and Angels center fielder Mike Trout suffered a torn ligament in his left thumb and will go on the disabled list. He'll undergo surgery and will likely miss six to eight weeks. Eric Young Jr. was called up from Salt Lake and inserted into the lineup for Sunday's game. Bees pitcher Parker Bridwell is reportedly also slated to join the major-league club and start on Tuesday. Bridwell made three starts (four games) for the Bees this season, and he went 2-1 with a 0.92 ERA with 19 strikeouts and two walks in 19 2/3 innings.

HISTORY LESSON • The Bees didn't enjoy much success against Tacoma in 2016. Tacoma won the season series between the teams, 13-3, Tacoma won six of the eight games in Smith's Ballpark last season.

What's next • The Bees will host Tacoma in the final game of their four-game series and the final game in the eight-game homestand on Tuesday at 12:05 p.m. in Smith's Ballpark. —
