A motorcycle crash on Interstate 15 near Fillmore has left one dead and one in critical condition in what appears to be the first highway fatality of the Memorial Day weekend..
The accident occurred shortly after noon near the exit to Meadow, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
No other vehicles were involved and witnesses said the motorcycle began to wiggle and the driver was unable to correct before it fell over at a high rate of speed.
A female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver was transported to Fillmore Community Hospital in critical condition.
Identifications were not immediately available.
Neither victim was wearing a helmet.
The UHP was continuing its investigation Friday afternoon.
