Road construction season is revving up and is expected to complicate travel in numerous spots in coming days along the Wasatch Front and beyond.

Perhaps most significant is the Interstate 80 exits at Foothill Drive closed Monday morning for up to four months. That will allow replacing several bridges around that interchange.

Drivers will be detoured onto the Interstate 215 east belt, where they may turn around at the 3300 South exit and take northbound I-215 to that freeway's Foothill Drive/Parleys Way exit.

The Utah Department of Transportation also warns about several other closures and lane restrictions, including:

• The collector ramp from westbound I-80 to 2100 South/1300 South/900 South at the "Spaghetti Bowl" is scheduled to close for five nights beginning Monday at 9 p.m. Westbound I-80 drivers should use State Street to access those streets while the ramp is closed. That ramp will also close for bridge maintenance.

• Construction has begun on a project to create a freeway-like interchange on Bangerter Highway at 7000 South. That highway will be reduced to two lanes during the day and noncommute hours and to one lane during overnight hours.

Construction crews are removing the "continuous flow interchange" there. UDOT says that by Sunday, left turns will be made from the center lanes at that intersection.

• Southbound Legacy Parkway was reduced to one lane daily beginning Monday from 9 a.m to 9 p.m. to remove and replace the top layer of pavement.

• Interstate 84 was reduced to one lane in each direction near exit 108 — east of Morgan — through May 13 to allow pavement repairs on bridges.

Construction schedules vary according to the weather. The latest information on traffic conditions is available online at udottraffic.utah.gov or by downloading the UDOT traffic app.
