A teenager is facing negligent homicide charges for a November crash in Draper crash that killed two teenagers and injured three others, police said Friday.

Draper police announced that the 16-year-old was charged Friday morning in 3rd District Juvenile Court with two counts of negligent homicide, a class A misdemeanor.

The driver apparently lost control of an SUV while driving north on Highland Drive near Ellerbeck Lane in Draper at about 11 p.m. on Nov. 19. Police have not released specifics about what caused the crash. Salt Lake County prosecutors declined to comment.

All five occupants were ejected when the SUV crashed, rolled and caught fire, according to Draper police.

Two of the teenagers — Lexie Fenton and Ethan Fraga, both 16 — died at the scene, police said. The other three, including Fenton's twin sister, were injured.

The night after the crash, hundreds of people, many of them teens, gathered at Draper Park to remember two 16-year-olds who were killed.

Friends said all five occupants of the SUV were Corner Canyon High School students.
