After losing control on a strip of slush, a driver in Box Elder County struck two cars Saturday evening, leaving one woman dead and another with minor injuries.

The driver was traveling southwest on U.S. Highway 91 in a silver sedan about 5:40 p.m., according to a news release from Utah Highway Patrol. The man veered into a median near Mantua.

His car slid on a slight coating of slush and crossed into the northeast lanes, clipping a red sedan. The red sedan spun out into the southwest lanes before stopping in the emergency lane; neither occupant was injured.

The silver sedan, though, continued to slide and struck a gray sedan.

The woman driving the gray sedan, 46-year-old Teri A. Taylor, of Logan, was killed, the release states. A 20-year-old woman in the passenger seat had minor injuries.

The 32-year-old man driving the silver sedan was not injured.

There was no indication of impairment, and all involved were wearing seat belts, the release states. All travel lanes were clear of snow, though damp, at the time of the crash after winter storms blew through the state early this week; only the median had a thin layer of slush.
