Posted: 9:56 AM- Southern Utah University offensive lineman Matt Roan signed a free agent contract with the Minnesota Vikings and attended the team's mini-camp Thursday.
"I'm battling a lot of nerves right now but I feel good about my chances," said Roan, whose contract is non-guaranteed. "I've got a long road ahead to make the team or to even make the practice squad but I'm glad to have the opportunity to do what I'm doing right now."
Roan, a three-time Great West Football Conference selection, played tight end at SUU before moving to the offensive line in his junior season. He began his collegiate career at Virginia Tech.
