Pop Top music: McCartney doesn't 'Let It Be'

"Electric Arguments" is the third album by Fireman, which is really an electronica collaboration between rock producer Youth and Paul McCartney.

Yes, that Paul McCartney.

McCartney sounds like he's having the most fun in years, not burdened by carrying on the mantle of That One Guy Who Used to Be In The Beatles. The trouble is, most of the tracks sound like work-in-progress experiments.

These are song fragments, not songs, and sound like they needed to be fleshed out. Still, it's mildly interesting to see Sir Paul create, using unusual methods, with his best songwriting partner since John Lennon.
