El Paso, Texas • Former University of Utah standout C.J. Cron hit two home runs and drove in seven runs, as the Salt Lake Bees jumped out to a 10-0 lead after the top of the third inning and defeated the El Paso Chihuahuas 11-10 on Thursday.

Justin Miller allowed two runs, but got Christian Villanueva to hit into a double play with a runner on first to end the game for his seventh save of the season.

Cron hit a two-run shot in the first inning and then hit a grand slam in the third, both off Tyrell Jenkins. Forrestt Allday doubled and singled three times, scoring two runs in the win.

Salt Lake starter Troy Scribner (6-1) picked up the win despite allowing six runs and eight hits over five innings. Jenkins (4-5) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game after giving up 10 runs and nine hits over 2 2/3 innings.

Several Chihuahuas chipped in at the plate, as five players picked up at least a pair of hits. Jose Pirela homered and singled twice, driving in three runs and scoring a pair.
