National Trails Day — a day to hike or ride on public lands and keep trails in good condition — is Saturday, June 3, and a number of organizations across Utah are planning events.

Here's a list of hikes, rides or planned maintenance listed with the American Hiking Society in order of the cities and towns where they are being held. For more details, go to the National Trails Day event page at http://nationaltrailsday.americanhiking.org.

Enterprise • The Dixie National Forest's Pine Valley Ranger District will install a Kiosk at the OX Valley Trail. U.S. Forest Service staff and volunteers may also do some tread work and rock removal in a few locations from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. For more information, email deanbcummings@fs.fed.us.

Huntsville • Back Country Horsemen of Utah, Wasatch Front Chapter will lead a trail cleanup, 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Saturday in the Middle Fork Wildlife Management Area. For more information, email julie5420@peoplepc.com.

Kanab • The Kane County Office of Tourism and the Healthy Kane County Coalition will have exhibits, activities and maps from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the tourism offices, 78 S. 100 East, Kanab. For more information, email little@swuhealth.org.

Logan • The U.S. Forest Service will conduct maintenance at the Spring Hollow Trailhead, at Spring Hollow Campground, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. For more information, email lisathompson@fs.fed.us or call 801-625-5850.

Sandy • The Sandy City Parks and Recreation Department and volunteers will conduct maintenance and beautification along the Bell Canyon Trail from 6:30 a.m. to noon Saturday. For more information, email cpetersen.forever@gmail.com.

Snowbird • Cancer Survivor Hike for Health, 9 a.m. Saturday. The 3-mile hike will be to prepare for and promote the Survivor of the Summit Hike happening July 8. For more information, call 801-236-2294.

Tooele • The Bureau of Land Management and volunteers are performing fence maintenance in Pass Canyon on Saturday morning. At noon, BLM staff will lead a hike up Pass Canyon. Anyone wanting to attend must email an RSVP to rtea@blm.gov. Volunteers and hikers must meet at 8:30 a.m. at the end of Churchwood Drive in Tooele to carpool up to Pass Canyon.
