Sixty-two years after Leroy Hobson "Roy" Strong acquired the first Volkwagen franchise in Utah, his descendants at Strong Auto Group dedicated their new VW dealership Thursday at 1070 S. Main Street in Salt Lake City.

Open houses for the public will be held Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring glimpses of two new vehicles, the VW Atlas and the Golf Alltrack.

Now in its fourth generation of family leadership and led by Brad and Blake Strong, the Strong Auto Group portfolio of German brands has included Porsche since 1957 and Audi since 1969. Its holdings also include Payless Auto Sales Salt Lake City and Porsche Design City Creek Center.

"This beautiful new facility is another legacy of the wonderful collaboration between the Strong family and Volkswagen of America," Brad Strong said. "It stands as an example of what can be accomplished when a true automotive partnership exists."
