The magic of "La La Land" is coming to the Usana Amphitheatre, with help from the Utah Symphony.

The world tour of "La La Land" in Concert will land at the West Valley City amphitheater on Saturday, June 24, starting at 9 p.m. (Gates open at 8 p.m.)

The Utah Symphony, with guest conductor Erik Ochsner, will perform Justin Hurwitz's Oscar-winning score live-to-film, accompanying the movie's original vocal recordings.

"La La Land," a musical romance that follows a struggling actor (Emma Stone) and an uncompromising jazz pianist (Ryan Gosling), won six Academy Awards — for Stone's performance, for director Damien Chazelle, for cinematographer Linus Sandgren, for David Wasco's production design, and two for Hurwitz (for the score and the song "City of Stars," lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul).

In a statement, Paul Meecham, president and CEO of Utah Symphony | Utah Opera, said, "Our audiences have absolutely loved the cinematic experience of watching a blockbuster movie on the big screen while the orchestra plays the soundtrack live to picture. The chance to witness 'La La Land' in Concert in an outdoor setting like USANA Amphitheatre is sure to delight Utahns and build further momentum for our upcoming Films in Concert series, which launches later this fall."

The Films in Concert series will screen four movies with the orchestra's live performance of the score: "Raiders of the Lost Ark," Sept. 7 and 8; "The Nightmare Before Christmas," Oct. 24; "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets," Dec. 21, 22 and 23; and "High Noon," Feb. 17.

Tickets for the "La La Land" concert go on sale Friday at 10 a.m., via Smith's Tix. For more on the Films in Concert series, visit http://www.utahsymphony.org.
