Search crews on Sunday continued to look for a Utah hiker who has been missing for three days.

Benjamin Kritzer, a 28-year-old Saratoga Springs resident, left for a solo hike Thursday morning near Cottonwood Heights and was reported missing that night by his family.

Unified Police Department officers found Kritzer's car at the Ferguson Canyon trailhead early Saturday, and members of the Salt Lake County Search and Rescue volunteer team and five UPD canyon patrol officers spent the day searching for the missing man. They were backed up by a Utah Department of Public Safety helicopter and a drone that was used to check out a cliff area.

The search was halted late Saturday afternoon because of poor weather conditions and darkness.

Crews in the air and on the ground with search dogs were searching Ferguson Canyon and Deaf Smith Canyon on Sunday, according to UPD.

The agency asked that the public not fly drones in the area while the helicopter is searching.
