It's really hard to understand how our legislators could submit a bill to allow Utahns as young as 18 to obtain concealed gun permits and then for Gov. Gary Herbert to sign the bill and make it the law. Where, oh where, is their common sense?

I was 18 once and so were our legislators and the guv. As they look back, do they really think they had the maturity or experience to be allowed to carry a concealed weapon? I don't think so.
