Filmmaker and environmental activist Jamie Redford will receive an award for his work from a California film festival.
Redford, 54, board chair of the Redford Center and son of actor-director Robert Redford, will get the Seeing the Bigger Picture Award, the highest honor given by the American Documentary Film Festival (AmDocs) in Palm Springs.
Festival director Ted Grouya said in a statement that Redford's work "exemplifies the sort of documentary filmmaking we strive to celebrate with our festival."
The festival runs March 31 to April 5 and will screen three of Redford's recent films. The latest, "Happening," set to air later this year on HBO, looks at the growth of America's clean-energy industry — profiling entrepreneurs in communities across the country, including in Lehi, Utah.
