Tonight's episode of "Riverdale" (8 p.m., CW/Ch. 30) was written by Aaron Allen — a native Utahn who's building a nice career for himself as a TV writer and producer.

In the episode, a major piece of evidence is mysteriously destroyed and new rumors swirl as to who was behind Jason's murder.

And there's a great plotline when Jughead's (Cole Sprouse) father returns and it's revealed that he and Fred (Luke Perry) have some unresolved issues.

The best TV news of the week is that The CW has renewed "Riverdale" for a second season. Hurrah!
