A pair of former Utes put together strong performances Friday in the NFL Combine, Garett Bolles and Joe Williams opening eyes with blazing performances in the 40-yard dash.

Bolles, rated as the second-best offensive tackle in the draft by NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock, clocked in at 4.95 seconds in the 40-yard dash — third fastest in the offensive line group. Bolles also produced the best broad jump among the linemen at 115 inches, the best three cone drill time at 7.29 seconds, the second-best 20-yard shuttle time of 4.55 seconds and tied for 10th best in the vertical jump with a 28-inch effort. He didn't participate in the bench press.

NFL draft analyst Lance Zierlein said Friday that Bolles is a fit for the Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans in the middle to late first round.

Williams showed off the speed that led him to 1,407 rushing yards season last year for Utah. The running back torched the 40-yard dash in 4.41 seconds — the second-fastest time of the day — tied for the fourth-best broad jump at 125 inches and tied for 10th in the vertical jump at 35 inches. He also added 14 reps with 225 pounds in the bench press.

Former Utah guard Isaac Asiata was the top performer among the offensive linemen in the bench press, lifting 225 pounds 35 times. He ran a 5.34 time in the 40-yard dash, and produced a 102-inch broad jump and a 25.5-inch vertical jump. He ran the 20-yard shuttle in 4.93 seconds and completed the three cone drill in 7.83 seconds — good for 15th among the offensive linemen.

Jamaal Williams, BYU's career leading rusher, ran the 40-yard dash in 4.59 seconds, finished with the seventh-best broad jump at 123 inches and produced a 30-inch vertical jump. He did not participate in the bench press.

Former Utah offensive tackle Sam Tevi had 15 reps in the bench press, ran a 5.27 40-yard dash, produced a 26-inch vertical jump, a sixth-best 20-yard shuttle time of 4.6 seconds and had a 107-inch broad jump — ninth best among the offensive line group. He finished the three cone drill in 7.84 seconds.

Former Utes center J.J. Dielman, who suffered a leg injury with the Utes in October, didn't participate in the on-field drills, but put up 27 repetitions in the bench press, sixth best in the offensive line group.
