Adventure's first stop was the top floor of the Maverik Base Camp building in downtown Salt Lake City on Friday.

The next stop was over the edge and 13 stories down.

Community members rappelled to the ground at 185 S. State between to help victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Rappellers raised at least $1,000 each in funds for services at the Salt Lake Area Family Justice Center at the YWCA, the nonprofit said in a statement.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and YWCA Utah is raising funds and awareness. The first 25 participants who raise $1,000 or more will have their first $1,000 "matched" by Salt Lake County — with a maximum county contribution of $25,000, the YWCA said.
