An apparent domestic disturbance turned into a brief SWAT standoff with a possibly armed Logan man Tuesday morning, but the incident ended with the suspect safely in custody.

Public safety dispatchers had received a 911 call reporting the man had fired a pistol at least once during a 5 a.m. confrontation with another man outside an apartment near 300 West and 300 North.

No one was reported hurt, but police blocked off traffic in the area and the nearby Ellis Elementary School was briefly locked down.

The man reportedly was located at a residence two blocks away and apprehended at gunpoint.

Further details were not immediately available from Police Chief Gary Jensen.

The Tribune will update this story as more information develops.
