Police identified the 31-year-old man who drowned in Herriman on Saturday afternoon as Penoni Mounga.

Mounga, from Kearns, was swimming with family at Blackridge Reservoir, near 5400 West and 15000 South, said Unified Police Lt. Lex Bell.

He had gone across the lake with the group and was swimming back to shore when he got fatigued and fell behind, Bell said.

Mounga went underwater about 3:40 p.m. and didn't resurface. Dive teams recovered the body about 4:20 p.m.
