Two starstruck Brigham Young University students recently brought hitchhiking actor and performance artist Shia LaBeouf to Utah during his #TAKEMEANYWHERE campaign.

LaBeouf and two of his friends started a game with the hashtag, in which they would send out their location on social media about noon each day, and the first person to come pick them up could choose the destination.

Utah County students Scott Daly and Hank Hanson documented the journey they took in finding the movie star.

After driving to and spending the night of May 25 in Laramie, Wyo., the pair missed LaBeouf, who was picked up by a different group. Daly and Hanson pressed forward, despite doubts of whether the trip would be worth it, the video shows.

They caught up with the actor at McConaughy Lake near Ogallala, Neb., 624 miles and 21 hours after embarking on the journey, but LaBeouf was with another group. He suggested they continue the journey and drive five more hours to Omaha, Neb., where LaBeouf and his friends Nastja Rönkkö and Luke Turner finally climbed into the sedan with Hansen and Daly on May 27.

On May 29, LaBeouf tweeted his coordinates from Spanish Fork and continued his journey.
