I am fast approaching my 88th birthday (and I look it). I fly once or twice a year for family visits on the East Coast.

Invariably, I am pulled aside at the security check and intimate parts of my body are probed by a stranger — parts that should require a marriage license or medical degree for access. This in full view of my fellow passengers. My police record consists of an over-time parking meter violation 40 years ago.

Long lines? Yes. Common sense? No!
