A Millard County woman whose body was found Friday died of hypothermia, according to a news release from the Utah County sheriff's office.

Stacy Jo Morrill, 52, was found dead in remote southwestern Utah County. The Utah medical examiner said the woman suffered hypothermia after leaving her SUV near Dividend Road, about four miles east of Eureka.

Morrill would have become disoriented and confused, the medical examiner said Monday. Morrill had removed her clothing, and there was evidence in the area that showed she had walked aimlessly over a broad area before she died.

Family members discovered the body just before 3 p.m. Friday about two miles from where Morrill's car had been abandoned, Utah County Sgt. Spencer Cannon said.

The area surrounding her body was "rugged terrain" covered with ravines, juniper trees and sagebrush.

Morrill, from Oasis, was last seen by her husband at their home on the evening of May 14. She was believed to have taken as much as $3,000 in cash with her when she left home, but she left her cellphone behind, police said.
