Eight rural Utah companies will get post-performance grants to expand operations, creating 84 new jobs and stimulating private investments totaling $1.9 million.
The recipients were:
• Applied Composite Technology Aerospace, Gunnison, $50,000 to buy equipment and alter its facilities to fulfill new contracts for helicopter and aircraft work. Company investment: $160,140; 45 jobs.
• Diamond S Manufacturing, Ephraim, $50,000 to buy a water-jet cutting machine to build hand-made parts for snowmobiles, including titanium mufflers, and bicycles. Company investment: $146,320; 1 job.
• Far West Construction, Mount Pleasant, $50,000 to expand its facility for manufacturing and assembling prefabricated homes and barns. Company investment: $294,905; 6 jobs.
• Ophir-Spiricon, North Logan, $33,000 to convert an empty warehouse into manufacturing, research and office space for making laser measuring and calibration instruments. Company investment: $679,140; 26 jobs.
• Bywater Products, Hyrum, $50,000 to buy equipment for manufacturing cabinets and millwork for residential and commercial projects. Company investment: $136,517; 3 jobs.
• Waste and Water Logistics, Helper, $50,000 to buy equipment for dealing with various waste-disposal services, including a camera for inspecting industrial and municipal sewer lines, portable toilets, septic tank pumping, sewer inspection, roll-off dumpsters, drain cleaning and septic system installation and repair. Company investment is $154,169; 1 job.
• High Desert Excavation, Green River, $50,000 to build an office, shop and maintenance facility for the company, which provides site preparation and remediation services for residential, commercial and industrial projects. Company investment is $145,792; 1 job.
• Dutson Supply Co., Delta, $25,000 to buy an equipped service vehicle to go on-site to fix disabled ready-mix concrete trucks. Company investment is $109,664; 1 job.
