A Provo man's body has been found after he drowned at Spanish Oaks Reservoir.

Jose Eduardo Castellanos, 20, had arrived at the reservoir about 9 a.m. Saturday, according to a Spanish Fork police news release. On Saturday night, Spanish Fork police were alerted that he was overdue.

Officers responded and found Castellanos' hat on the southeast bank of the reservoir, which is above Power House Road.

The Utah County Search and Rescue Team was contacted and a search began at daylight on Sunday. About 17 feet of water was drained from the 5-acre reservoir to aid the search.

About 10:30 a.m., Castellanos' body was found in five feet of water on the northeast side of the reservoir, according to the news release.

"Jose was found fully clothed so it does not appear that he intentionally entered the water," the release reads. "It is unknown if Jose slipped on wet concrete and then was unable to exit the reservoir."

This is the second drowning that has occurred at the reservoir since its construction in 2002. On June 30, 2011, a 53-year-old man drowned there.
