After enjoying a morning breakfast and egg hunt Sunday, believers united for a sacred service at Salt Lake City's Mount Tabor Lutheran Church to celebrate Christianity's holiest day: Easter.

The congregation is led by the Rev. David Nichols, who has been shepherding the Mount Tabor flock since 2010.

Western Christians around the globe marked Easter Sunday with prayers, songs, sermons and service to commemorate the day followers believe Jesus was resurrected in Jerusalem 2,000 years ago.

Orthodox Christians will celebrate Easter on May 1.
