The "Mummies of the World" exhibition at The Leonardo will be wrapping up this weekend.
The popular touring exhibit will close its current run on Sunday, the museum has announced.
To accommodate the expected crowds, hours for the final weekend have been extended, with doors closing on Friday and Saturday at midnight. Advance online reservations are recommended.
The exhibition features real mummies and artifacts from South America, Europe and ancient Egypt, some dating back more than 4,500 years. It also explores the links between mummies, science and medicine, by featuring items from the Burns Collection, a historic collection of medical mummies going as far back as the early 1800s. Also in the exhibit is MUMAB, a first-of-its-kind mummy created in 1994 using the tools and techniques of the ancient Egyptians at the University of Maryland's medical school.
Admission to the exhibit is $22.50 for adults, $19.50 for juniors (12-17) and seniors (65 and up), $18 for children (6-11), and free for those 5 and younger. Student and military discounts are available. The museum charges no fees for buying tickets online.
